About Leigh Sales AM, co-host of Chat 10 Looks 3

Sales is a wannabe undercover operative who maintains an elaborate fantasy life as a professional cellist, whilst filling her days posing as one of Australia’s most respected journalists. She anchors ABC-TV’s Australian Story and The Assembly and before that hosted the network’s flagship current affairs program, 7.30, for 11 years. That means she is a world-class name-dropper when it comes to celebrities and political leaders she’s interviewed, including Hillary Clinton, Michelle Obama, the Dalai Lama, Paul McCartney, Elton John, Harrison Ford, Tom Hanks, Salman Rushdie and Margaret Atwood, among others. Even with all of that, she still has the hide to whine about never having met Harry Styles or Hugh Grant.  She has interviewed every living Australian Prime Minister, as well as the late Bob Hawke, and has anchored federal elections and budget nights for the ABC. Sales has three Walkley Awards, two honorary doctorates and an Order of Australia for services to journalism that she likes to position prominently in the background of Zoom calls with Crabb, just to rub it in.

Sales is the mother of two teenage sons which means in her own household, all of these achievements count for jack shit. Which is how she likes it.

Sales is on Instagram and Facebook.
