Annabel Crabb, co-host

Crabb is an ABC writer and presenter with a 30-year career covering Australian politics for various organs. With catlike stealth, she has incorporated her hobby (cooking) into her day job and in 2011 devised Kitchen Cabinet, a kitchen-based political interview program that has either offered an intriguing glimpse into the characters of our political leaders or destroyed democracy as we know it, depending on whom you ask. In 2026, Kitchen Cabinet is heading into its ninth season and Crabb has cooked with politicians across the political spectrum. Yes, she has fewer Walkleys than Sales. Amazing how frequently this comes up. But she’s written more books, so suck on that, Ginger . . . Losing It: The Inside Story of the Labor Party in Opposition, Rise of the Ruddbot, Stop at Nothing: The Life and Adventures of Malcolm Turnbull, The Wife Drought, Special Delivery, Special Guest, Men At Work and There's a Prawn in Parliament House. For the ABC, she has written and presented a documentary trilogy on Australian politics, beginning in 2018 with The House, a fly-on-the-wall series on the inner workings of the federal Parliament, continuing with 2021's Ms Represented, about Australian women in politics, and concluding in 2025 with Annabel Crabb's Civic Duty. Crabb presented three series of the popular ABC history programme Back in Time For Dinner. In 2026, Crabb launched a new history podcast for ABC Listen, History Or Hoarding?

Her main job, however, is political commentary and analysis for the ABC website, and she bobs up on ABC Radio, Insiders, budget and election night coverage.  Annabel lives in Sydney with her partner Jeremy and their three children, all of whom can spot a Chatter at ten paces. (‘She’s going to stop and talk for a gazillion hours, isn’t she.’) Team Butter. Always.
